Brain Injuries

There are two main causes for brain injury: lack of oxygen or blood flow to the brain, and physical trauma. The first, lack of oxygen, may be caused by medical malpractice in relation to childbirth or the treatment of a pregnant woman. For example, cerebral palsy is a birth injury which is linked to a lack of oxygen to the brain during childbirth. Medical malpractice may also be a factor in the failure to treat or diagnose a brain injury or improper care of a brain injury. Emergency room errors may be linked to brain injury medical malpractice claims in that regard.

A medical malpractice claim may allow an individual who has suffered a brain injury recover compensation to pay for medical expenses, lost wages and possibly more.
