The California Department of Public Health has reportedly fined Emanuel Medical Center for failing to follow policies and procedures for the safe distribution and administration of medication. According to reports, the medical center is being fined $50,000. One physician was reportedly found to not be following the hospital’s procedure for dispensing medication including the anti-nausea medication Droperidol. The matter was related to at least five patients.
