Family Awarded $2.2 Million in Wrongful Death

A Texas family has reportedly been awarded $2.2 million in a medical malpractice case involving wrongful death. According to reports, a man was not properly cared for after he had heart surgery in 2006. The man was allegedly suffering from internal bleeding, but was not given immediate care as there was no room for him in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse who then cared for him wasn't trained for this type of case and was not able to recognize further signs of illness. He later passed away from a lack of proper care.
